What disease has ever been found to be caused by a lack of a drug? Most of us recognize that health does not come from a pill … and that no disease is caused by a pharmaceutical or vaccine ‘deficiency’.
So how is it that most consider it sound practice to use potentially toxic chemicals as a first-line treatment for conditions that are not caused by a lack of a chemical?
Is acid reflux caused by a lack of proton-pump inhibitors? Is heart disease caused by a lack of statin drugs? Is osteoporosis caused by a lack of Fosamax? Is cancer caused by a lack of chemotherapy? Is depression caused by a lack of Zoloft?
Where is the logic in a medical model that treats the symptoms of disease with sub-lethal dosages of toxic chemicals, with no attempt to uncover, understand or remove the causes of those diseases?
Perception seems to be winning out over logic! But where does this distorted, foggy perception come from? This is a very big story, with a significant part played by media.
TV ads, newsprint, documentaries, the nightly medical ‘news’ story, Politian’s and industry funded patient support groups, to name a few, are making drugs a common and everyday part of life. This exposure makes an impact and breeds a sense of familiarity and loyalty.
Commercials by design influence us into thinking that using a particular product is normal, ordinary, a good idea; an everyday thing to do that everybody is doing. They appeal to our emotions, often emphasising our shortcomings as fathers, mothers, friends, and spouses. And we often turn away from nutrition and toward medication.
Are there individuals that need medicines? Yes. But what about the natural, effective and safe ways we can combat allergies, depression, migraine or insomnia? Why don’t you see any commercials about niacin (B3) for mental disorders; or about the uses of high-dose vitamin C; or the health benefits of optimal doses of vitamin D; or the extraordinary role beneficial bacteria play in our lives. Because these natural products are not able to be patented and thus monopolised for huge finacial gain.
Bring back logic!
