The practitioners and staff at Core Naturopathics would like to congratulate you on taking a very big step on your healthcare path! Thank you for allowing us to be an intrinsic part of this journey!
You will find our services quite different from other clinics that you may have been involved with. Our clinic is unique in the services we provide, the holistic approach we have to health, our in- house testing facilities, the education we provide and even the environment in which the clinic is situated. We have and will continue to provide the most current and dynamic services available, so as to maximize your potential.
By making this appointment, you have indicated that your health is important to you. Your health and wellbeing is our clinic’s priority.
We have designed our consultation protocols to provide optimal benefits to your health so you see the greatest changes in the shortest possible time frames. It is extremely important that you provide us with accurate and honest information.
YOUR FIRST CONSULTATION
As your initial appointment is predominantly to assess your health status and goals we have prepared for you a pre-appointment pack. This pack will be sent to you or it can be picked up prior to your first consultation.
We have structured your consultations in a very specific way:
Your first consultation is designed to gather your medical information. We have several “base line” tests which we require you to participate in. Your introduction pack will contain several empty specimen jars (instructions are included) in which you will be required to place your samples. We will also require you to provide as much medical information as you possibly can. Relevant information may include; pathology or hormone tests, previous treatment history, medications, supplements, a diet diary etc.
You may also be required to complete a relevent questionnaire. Please complete prior to your first consultation. During the consultation we will gather your results and your additional information and form a strategy for treatment. The Health Appraisal Questionnaire requires every question to be answered, even if they seemingly repeat themselves.
As many of our clients present with very chronic and debilitating conditions, we strongly recommend (where prudent) the attendance of a spouse or advocate to aid in any decision making processes around treatment strategy.
Your second consultation will generally be booked in for the following week. If however you are travelling from a distance, please notify our reception staff and they will make an extended booking for you on the day of your first consultation.
Your second consultation is designed to discuss and formulate the best course of action for the best health outcome. We will discuss options in regards to the most appropriate strategy for healing and wellbeing. This time is an opportunity to ask questions, discuss further issues, organize additional tests (if necessary), introduce options and instigate treatment protocols.
Ongoing consultations will be required (times may vary). This allows us to review your progress and make changes where required. Illness can be likened to an onion – as we remove one layer another picture may show itself. Your symptoms may change – they may become less frequent, decrease in intensity, disappear or sometimes entirely new conditions may come up.
Please arrive for your appointment 15 minutes early. Please refrain from wearing stockings to your appointment. Ensure that you bring all of the paperwork and specimens to your appointment. Our Clinic is very busy. If for some reason you need to reschedule your appointment, we require a minimum 24 hours’ notice; otherwise you may be billed for the missed appointment. This, in consideration for others, allows us to schedule in patients from our waiting list.
All of our practitioners are fully trained and registered with health practitioner associations; if you have private health cover your treatments may be covered. HICAPS is available.
Please take some time to look through our web site. Acquaint yourself with the questionnaires, tests and instructions. It is important to understand that our team is here to support you. If you have questions call us! Communication with your practitioner is essential, particularly in regards to treatments and supplementation. Change is to be expected (and welcomed!) from your treatment – there are no straight roads leading out of wilderness areas and there may well be highs and lows on your health journey before you reach civilisation again. Be assured, there are no ‘silly questions’ and we much prefer to act on quiries you may have ASAP; just call us!
Over the coming months you will be invited to take advantage of the additional services that we are able to offer (see our website for further details). These services are inclusive and free of charge to our current clients. We encourage you to use these facilities as much or as often as you feel necessary.
Please remember, that when you walk out of the clinic it is just the beginning of our relationship with you!
