Green leafy and cruciferous vegetables, such as, kale, spinach and broccoli ~ These particular vegetables provide a powerful hit of antioxidants which assists with reducing overall inflammation, building a stronger immune system and supporting detoxification pathways.
Herbs such as coriander and parsley ~ both of these herbs assist the body by binding to toxic heavy metals and facilitating their elimination. Parsley is particularly rich in immune boosting vitamin C, which helps with maintaining a healthy gut, lowers inflammation and supports heart health.
Our favourite culinary spices, ginger, turmeric and cinnamon ~ The combination of these three spices adds to the overall anti-inflammatory and antioxidant rich effects of our medical smoothie due to the spices rich phytochemistry
Flaxseed and Chia seeds ~ which are rich in healthy fats, which is imperative for health and reducing inflammation. Both are also beneficial sources of dietary fibre which assists with promoting good digestion and wellbeing.
Our favourite seed, quinoa ~ Quinoa is important for feeding good gut bacteria which is needed to support the immune system (as 80% of our immune system lies in our gut) and to improve overall gastrointestinal health. It’s also full of essential amino acids, high in fibre, minerals, nutrients and various antioxidants’.
Dulse flakes ~ Dulse flakes are an excellent source of Iodine, which is needed by the thyroid gland to make thyroid hormones. The thyroid regulates heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature and controls the rate at which food is converted to energy. Due to the western diet, our food sources of iodine are rather low/non-existent, therefore incorporating dulse into the smoothie is important to support our clients to better health.
On top of this nutrient dense ingredient profile, we add in a high quality protein powder, organic berries or mango and prebiotic syrup to balance flavour, support gut health and cater for our clients every need.
